A physical product has to work for two audiences at once: the person who uses it and the line that builds it. Good product design resolves both together rather than trading one off against the other. The work runs through two connected parts.

Design starts from how the product is actually used — who handles it, in what conditions, and what the experience has to be before any of it is manufacturable. That understanding is then resolved against the constraints that make a product real: material behavior, tolerances, and the production method. The studio designs inside those constraints rather than around them, so the way a product is used and the way it gets built are worked out together instead of handed off in sequence. Mechanical form, electronics, and internal components develop in direct dialogue with your engineers, each discipline shaping the other as the design takes shape. The scope reaches from a single component device to a product that integrates housing, electronics, and sensors into one working form.

Prototyping and small batch production

Design decisions on a physical product are verified in the hand, not on the screen, which is why prototyping sits at the center of the work rather than at the end of it. Where a company doesn't yet have its own low-volume production capability, the studio runs prototype to small-batch production directly — FDM and SLA printing and silicone casting, the methods that make sense before a tooling investment is justified. The result is parts in hand early and a production path defined before any commitment to volume manufacturing.

The workflow is structured so you always know what's being worked on, what arrives next, and what decision is yours to make. Each phase closes with concrete deliverables. The full phase documentation is shared when we scope your project.

  1. Discovery & Constraints

    Sessions establish what the product has to do, the conditions it operates in, and the technical and production constraints that will shape every decision, along with where this engagement needs to start, whether that's a sketch, a working prototype, or a design that needs to become manufacturable.

  2. Concept & Form

    Concept directions are developed inside the constraints rather than after them, so form, component layout, and how the product is used get resolved together. The direction that best fits the product and its production reality is carried forward.

  3. Engineering Integration

    Mechanical design and electronics develop in parallel with your engineers, each shaping the other in real time. Component placement, connector positions, wall thicknesses, and sealing are worked out against requirements like signal performance and ingress protection together, not in sequence.

  4. Prototyping & Validation

    Prototypes are built and tested through the process rather than at the end of it. FDM iterations check fit and assembly early, SLA verifies tolerance and surface quality, and sealing and connector details are confirmed before anything moves toward production.

  5. Production & Delivery

    The production method is defined alongside the design, and small batch runs are produced directly when a company doesn't have its own low-volume capability. Everything is documented for manufacturing, so the product can move to production and to market without losing what the design resolved.
